Mmm, mmm, mmm ... Mimosa!

Pantone, the global authority on color and provider of professional color standards for the design industries, recently announced it's selection for Color of the Year. And the winner is...PANTONE® 14-0848 Mimosa, a warm, engaging yellow.

Hope springs eternal as we embrace the new "it" color for 2009. I've been toying with several shades of warm yellows and have paired them with some pretty amazing textures and accent colors since summer, hoping and wishing that yellow would be the color of the year.

Yellow is one of those colors that makes me wax nostalgic, to my childhood in the 70's and 80's. I grew up in a sunny yellow bedroom that, no matter how dreary the rainiest day was, my room felt like a day in the warm sun. As I sit in my beautiful office blogging away, I am, to this day, enveloped in the warmest golden yellow decor. There are some things that I don't want to change and my long love affair with yellow is one of them.
